As a playing league member on Mercoledi, I am issuing a call of duty for all fellow Wednesday bocce-ballers. We are the JV team. It is time to overtake Tuesday as the leaders of the bocce scene and show them what real bocce, class, and partying look like.
1. Bocce Prowess. Mercoledi is the underdog in the current blog survey of which group will walk away with a first place trophy this year. Is this b/c Wednesday night bocce is inferior to Tuesday night bocce? Or is it more likely b/c Tuesday night ballers visit the blog in higher numbers to vote for themselves? Whatever the case may be Mercoledi, we need to improve our rep and overtake Tuesday on the courts.
2. Classing it up. In fairness, Mercoledi has newer teams who may not be aware of the various sensitivities of the neighbors. We may have to accommodate Tuesday's refuse as well, but consider ourselves informed: It is bad PR for the League to leave trash overflowing in the trash cans in the park. There are plenty of trash cans that line the walk to the Pour House. Please don't pile trash into or onto full cans. Walk your trash a little off the beaten path to a can that has space in it or out of the park.
3. Late Night Presence. Where is the Pour House love? I save myself on Tuesdays to make memories with my Wednesday brethren, but my devotion is only answered by a few. The party goes until midnight, you just missed it. Where were you? Trying to make it home in time for American Idol? -- TiVo it. Perhaps your significant other called? -- Tell them to get over to the PH. Mercoledi is one day closer to the weekend than Martedi. One less day of dragging your tired ass to work after bocce mid-week. Let's pull together Mercoledi and get this party started!
This is the last week I will be saving myself for Wednesday night partying, unless some of the love is returned. Let's go forth and conquer -- Let Luca Bocce lead the way!
