IMPOSTERS! The Down Side of Fame

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So what was it, New Kids on the Bocce? Or should I say FAUX New Kids on the Bocce?? Was it our musical stylings? Our smooth dance moves? Our bocce prowess? Our mad flip cup skills? Or just our good looks and sensibilities? Please tell me so I can proceed with feeling flattered instead of just pissed off that some bocce upstarts too lame to come up with their own name have stolen our intellectual property and infringed on our brand.

Consider yourselves warned: we will eventually meet on the bocce courts and will prove to you and the entire DC Bocce league that there is but one true New Kids on the Bocce (NKOTBocce). You haven't got The Right Stuff. No, that's us. You can't Hang Tough. No, we do that exclusively. But Step by Step, we're gonna get to you. And We. Will. Bring. You. Down. Oh-oh-Oh-oh-Oh.

  1. ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, JEN! It's crazy that the DC Bocce League even allows this kind of infringement on intellectual property--especially on such a GEM as our precious NKOTBocce name. In true DC style, we opted to use the acronym for New Kids on the Block instead of spelling out the entire name of this boy band. So not only are the new New Kids copying, they're not following the DC way. Minus 2 points right there! We're just going to have to rock it out even harder this season. Go NKOTBocce!

  2. We here at the East coast player players association would not tolerate such infringement, obviously what you have here is a team that is truly bogus.

  3. Actually, the other NKOTB have never played in the league before. So they couldn't have 'stoled' your team name Also, some of them haven't even played bocce. So THEY really are the new kids on the bocce.

Maybe you shouldn't be content with coming up with a single good team name. Try thinking outside the box. Challenge yourself. Create a new team name. Bring more flare. Dont settle on the court or off the courts.

  4. Think outside the box? Would you dare ask U2 or The Rolling Stones to keep changing their name for every concert tour? Ah...No!

It may be a new season, but sorry, imposters, there is not enough stonewashed jeans or rat tails to go around!

I think Milli Vanilli would have been a better name for you!

  5. wow, looks like someone needs a diaper change!! you "NKOTB" people are obviously no longer "N". maybe look up the meaning of "new" in a dictionary before writing something like that in this blog. as a new team, it makes us feel REAL welcome. thanks. and thank you to GC/DC for knockin these suckas down a peg:) by the way, we changed our name immediately because we didn't want to be confused with some lame-os.

    holla.
