Skeeball Contest for PanCan

Week 5 marked the first DC Bocce Skeeball Contest at Pour House. League members lined up throughout the night to buy a round of skeeball for charity. Over 100 participants took aim at the evening's high score in the hopes of taking home select bocce sets or a $50 Pour House Gift Certificate. Congratulations to our winner Danny of team Peroni & the Pit Stains (450 points), as well as our runners-up Ruth of Capital Hill Interns (430 point) and Josh from team Serenity Now (380 points).

Thanks to our sponsors for providing prizes for the event and to all our participants--with your help we raised $500 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network which is a national organization that helps people afflicted with pancreatic cancer and aims to create hope through research, patient support and advocacy for a cure. Thanks again and please continue to raise awareness that November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

Proper Bocce Ettiquette

Dear Bocce Ball Enthusiasts:

I truly enjoy playing in the DC Bocce League with all of you.  You are an amazing and fun bunch.  Sometimes, maybe too fun.  Sometimes, maybe you are distracted thinking of your next throw or your next Peroni.  Sometimes, you hand in a score sheet identifying your game with simply "Red" and "Green."  I know that when faced with the obvious, you realize this garners no recognition for you or your opponents in the standing since every team in the league Red or Green

This is a simple and friendly reminder to please write your full team name on the score sheet you hand in.

Bring Your Cans (and other non perishable items)

Thanks to your generous efforts, we collected over 400 items for the Capital Area Food Bank!

Items ranged from cans of corn, to toothbrushes and toothpaste, to Costco-sized bottles of salad dressing. All of these items will definitely make a difference in our community and we really thank you for making the food drive such a success.

Subsequently, the DC Bocce League will match your donations with a $402 check to the Capital Area Food Bank.

And congratulations to Erotic Bocce Hunt for donating a whopping 107 items - we hope you enjoy your gift certificate!

Bring your iPod to Bocce Day(s)

Indoor Bocce Ballers are invited to share their best bocce soundtracks with the League at the American Legion on Wednesday nights.  We can play your selected playlist on the speakers in the banquet room while your game is going on.  See any of the black shirts for getting on the "play list" at the Legion!
