City at Peace uses the performing arts to teach and promote cross-cultural understanding and conflict resolution. Since 1994, City at Peace has served over 1,000 youth in the DC metropolitan area and each of them will attest to the fact that they would not be who they are today without this program. This summer, 65 young people from across the DC region have crafted an original musical entitled UNPROTECTED about healthy relationships, AIDS awareness and sexuality—all based on their life stories and experiences. In partnership with Metro TeenAIDS, City at Peace DC proudly brings their exciting new show to you!
If you cannot make it please consider lending your support to this truly amazing organization. This year over 100 students from the DC metro area were trained in effective conflict resolution, violence prevention and peace building through City at Peace DC. Through the program kids go from typical sullen, angry, at-risk adolescents to confident, courageous individuals and leaders of social change in their communities. I have never before met a more visionary leader (artistic director, Sandi Holloway) or worked with more resilient, inspiring young people.
Contributions can be made via our website http://cityatpeacedc.org/ or by mailing a check to our address: 1328 Florida Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20009.
I hope to see you tonight and thank you in advance for your continued support!
Christina and Katie, Arrested Deboccement and City at Peace Board of Directors
